Not such a baby step
Unless you're seeing something I'm overlooking. The barrier I see to home use is infrastructure. Your basic Best Buy, CompUSA, etc, have no incentive to spend the money build expertise and logistics for an alternate medium for the sole pupose of shifting income from one pocket to another - I don't see the ROI.

Business is another story. With the technical expertise in place to support the server, it is a matter of grafting onto an existing capability, and actually trimming costs by eliminating a parallel support chain. Consumer demand would only pick up as a result of familiarity at the office, and would be a long-haul proposition.

I've always pictured it, business leads (and certainly here the business and professional press are the indicators) and consumer follows. What would your model be?
