Microsoft has been subsidizing the PPCs for huge financial lost.
Microsoft have been losing money constantly subsidizing the sales of the PPCs.

It is not surprising but nothing to brag about a monopoly using monopoly money to enter a lateral market and grabbing a lead after and still losing money to keep the share.

It is like comparing the fastest runner with a rider on a 500cc motorcycle to see who makes it there 20 miles away first. This is ridiculous comparison and nothing to brag about.

If Microsoft was banned from using monopoly money from the desktop OS and Office to subsidize the PPCs, Microsoft's venture into the handheld would have been a failure.
