Which third quarter is the most recent?
OK:

"The article you are taken to by the link that you provided, does not contain information as recent as the information in this article. The following is from this article:

Overall, worldwide handheld shipments rose by almost 14 percent from a year ago, totaling nearly 2.9 million during the third quarter, according to Gartner."
----------

From PCWorld article:

PDA Sales Continue to Drop

Consumers are giving PDAs the hand as they move toward smart phones.

Tom Krazit, IDG News Service
Wednesday, October 27, 2004

If a handheld device doesn't have voice capabilities, a growing number of users around the world aren't interested, according to IDC.

For the third straight quarter, shipments of handheld devices such as personal digital assistants fell as some prominent vendors decided to pull back from the market, IDC says.
_______

Are we to infer that Gartner's third quarter is more recent than IDC's third quarter? On what information should we base this inference?

The PCWorld article was posted on Oct. 27th and this article was posted today. Is that what you are referring to? Since this article came out later and quotes a different authority does that make it more recent or more delayed?

This is not an argument, it is a verbal dispute ; we are claiming that the words mean [at least 2] different things.
