Microsoft grabs lead in (a rapidly declining) handheld market.

The article you are taken to by the link that you provided, does not contain information as recent as the information in this article. The following is from this article:

Overall, worldwide handheld shipments rose by almost 14 percent from a year ago, totaling nearly 2.9 million during the third quarter, according to Gartner.

I wouldn?t be surprised if PalmOne eventually ditches the Palm OS altogether. At least Palm can take some consolation in the fact that even if PalmSource does not survive, PalmOne probably will.
