I don't get how bundling software is bad? Everyone does it. You buy a Linux or Download it and it's bundled with tons of software. Even in the hardware world it's the same thing. Take stereo equipment, you buy an all in one box and it comes with a tape deck made buy someone else and CD player made by some else all put into one box. Even TVs are that same way. My TV has a digital Tuner built in but I didn't use it as I had set top digital Tuner.
Bundling isn't bad. Forcing you to use the equipment is bad however. For example if my TV's built in tuner would only let me use that tuner. That would be bad for competition. Now Microsoft allows you to install other software. That's fair if you ask me. The day Microsoft bundles MS Office and makes it so I can't install another office suite, then you'd be right.
I have issues with IE bolted to the OS but not because some think that's anti-competitive but because I feel it's a security hole. - Posted by: voska Posted on: 11/05/04 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
