I think you can pretty much count on the fact that every
new update is going to disable any of the plug-ins that
allow people to circumvent this. But as I mentioned, there
are many stand-alone apps that do the same thing without
ever touching iTunes.
As for the whole Real thing, they're just protecting their
business there. Besides, have you noticed that people only
complain about that in principle, not because their upset
