The continual lawsuits may build the
foundations for legitimate net music services, or even brink and mortar, but I'm hoping that it'll put more consumer and govt focus on making sure big music does treat the consumer base fairly, including a true, cold hard look at what has become of copyright law, Fair Use, the Home Recording Act, and a whole host of national, international laws. IMO, the balance way favors commercial interests over consumers' rights, privileges and access to current, emerging, and future technologies. Unfortunately, on campus you'll probably only find two types of music followers, the illegal possession and the freely buy industry tripe. Oh well, they are the future leaders, . . RIAA better cement those laws right now before they too are in a retirement home. See ya, Hilary, where ever you are.
