IBM spun off Lexmark years ago!
Lexmark is a publically traded company. IBM spun off their printer manufacturing division, which is now called Lexmark in 1991.

Personally I do not care for Lexmark products, I have found them generally poorly made, at least the ones since the spin off, and far too much proprietary in thier design.

I do believe that Lexmark, HP, Canon, and Epson need to stop trying to block aftermarket cartridges. The problem falls right in their lap. The cartridges that the manufacturers sell are GROSSLY overpriced. They have created their own problem.

I have noted that recent printer models require cartridges that hold LESS ink and cost more than previous models. Lexmark and the others deserve to loose market share to the aftermarket companies. I think the printer companies are about to learn what the auto companies did many years ago. Greed will nail you everytime!
