You remember my observation that standards are what can obtain the agreement of the slowest, least innovative committee member.
Here, too, the standard is apparently not quite adequate to the situation.

People make computers. Their (our) model for the logical actions for the computer is their logic. It worked! Computers operate like people thinking, except more rigorously than most.
Your basic A=A argument.
Your comments on AI remind me of successful computer programs that play chess. At one time, the ideal was to cut down on the number of trees examined by incorporating principles into move selection and evaluation. Didn't work very well. Now the ideal is a huge number of calculations done quickly.
