First off, always remember, having a monopoly is not against the law, and it's a sign of an extremely successful business. It's not the best situation for the customer, but as long as the position is not abused....

I think they'll eventually do this. But the iTMS has to be more established.

Also, it would be nice if MS would offer a version of WMP that plays their style of DRM'ed files that works on anything other than Windows. Mac and Linux users are shut out from any of the major online stores selling WMA files.

Exactly. AAC is an open standard, available to all for licensing. Note that the iPod plays un-DRMed AAC files just fine.
