iPod as a disk drive...

You obviously know nothing of the iPod (on the Mac anyway).

When you plug an iPod in to a Mac, it also automatically pops up on the desktop as an extra drive. While the iPod is always touted for it's musical abilities, IMO, a major selling point often glossed over is it's use as a plug & play, portable, "bootable" external hard drive.

"... no crappy iTunes or 'manager' software ..." is required to auto-mount on a Mac... or is that needed only on a Windows machine? That would be expected in the typical Windows world of "plug & pray" happy
