- No User Servicable Parts ..and so on. Is

what the major TV vendors should do, I mean create some user servicable parts. Since it might get them interested in a vendors technology, and it would provide a platform for an ever changing benifit of better technology.
This story is probably 'payed for by Microsoft. It is kind of strange to see all of these proprietors in retrospect of what Microsoft would do with its hand and the advent of PC-TV. Since pc builders have been using the feature set of their own home builds for years.
Problem with the proprietors,as I see it, there is still a political wind of change to take their cue from. For all of the technical prowess of Microsoft ,Dell,HP, and Sony , they still take the impression what their products will make within the aspect of what rulings might be found within laws governing copyrights. It isn't enough to find precedent, they must go with something in their builds wich is less obtrusive,or categorically 'softer on usage models. So that they themselves will not step on anybodies toes in the meantime.
In a way, a proprietors name means less for consumers. For now. There are serious limitations to having the Microsoft setup for organization of your media requirements. DVD copies only running on certain other computers. Rules made for wich certain would in any other curcumstance not be at anything other than that of the persons own details.
Microsoft will be the first to be the 'soft set for copyrighted materials, for any of the most can be shown for. Even though the idea is consitent to consumer, what Microsoft can make of it for themselves will not include what a person can know of consumer through the technology.
This will change, but for now proprietors are merely tiptoeing what ever wake of shallow beach they can find. Here not only is there little room for precedent, there is also little room for compromise,or differences of opinion, since a proprietor will 'optimize according the present preface.
Some proprietors simply state the right to create 'in-laws, where they actually have no 'emminent domain to do so. Try arguing that with your tivo service while they are copying your record of viewing to their database of 'most previously viewed. Its catchy for anybody but yourself. The way I see it.
