Yeah, I thought this was to wear, too.
In fact, did anyone not think that? I mean, is there a history of home appliances and furniture using football helmet as design motif?

I mean, there's the newer Apple PCs with LCD, but they just look like nothing on Earth. And speaking of that, I think there used to be a TV set that looks like an astronaut's helmet, but stylised. I think you could draw the sun visor over the screen to cut reflective glare, or open it wide.

And I've seen a drinks cooler in outsize soccer ball shape. But apart from that...
