this isnt new, IBM isnt the first to make built in fingerprint scanner on a laptop or portable computer. There are tablets from Motion computing, and laptops from MicronPC that ive personally used with fingerprint scanners in them, that have been available for months, or longer.
the only thing i see here that is being called "new" is that it is encryting info and has a 'special chip' it works with in the hardware.
