The design created the buzz
Apple clearly put a huge effort into the design of the iPhone and it
shows.

It's not only a very innovative product, but it's one that most iPod
users can relate to very quickly. That alone has been sufficient to
generate a huge buzz. Having 6 months to wait has allowed the buzz
to continue to develop as well as thousands of articles (in print and
on the internet) to build on the buzz.

Now we'll wait for the news stories on the lines forming to buy an
iPhone on the first day, from New York to San Francisco.
