Done all for the money
Really the problem with the prequels was the story was enough for 1 movie stretched into 3 movies. This meant the content of the of each movie was about the 1/3 and the rest was filler actions scenes and cgi effects. This means more money with less effort but the results are kind of lacking.

Personally I'd have done it differently. I'd have either take the story line put it into 1 2.5-3 hour movie or I'd have written each episode to have a more compelling story.

Here's a thought. What if Lucas arts puts out a game. Not just any game but a game where the people play it and it creates the story. The data from the game gets transfered online to a database and the story can be picked from there. Where the game end the movie starts taking characters from the game a propelling them through a full feature movie that ends dumping back in the game. If done right this would produce a good movie and really propel game sales.

Imagine this with a game like Fracture. I think it would be interesting to say the least.
