Dell brings back XP on home systems

Translation: Those that know better are asking for XP, and for those that don't know to ask for it, they get Vista. From Ideastorm, to counteract the "Business Only" XP argument.

We heard you loud and clear on bringing the Windows XP option back to our Dell consumer PC offerings. Based on your feedback, the following Dell consumer systems with Windows XP are now immediately available on Dell.com:

* Dell Inspiron: 1405, 1705, 1505, 1501
* Dell Dimension: E520, E521

These systems offer two flavors of Windows XP - Home and Pro. We appreciate the continued feedback from the IdeaStorm community. Keep ?em coming!

Anyone can try to spin this 6 ways from Sunday, simple fact is Vista was released, MS and OEMs started the Vista Only push, it was rejected and with MS's consent (reluctant or no choice, they can't actually kill Dell's bottom line) gave in for a second appearance of XP.

Shade keeps insisting that at launch + 90 days XP will disappear forever, but I don't think a company that gets asked for choice, brings it back again to MUCH acclaim is going to again, rip the rug out from under it's own customers in what, ten days? Has Vista matured much since Jan 30?
