Dell declined in a growing market, despite the issuance of Vista in late January. The new version of Windows apparently improved sales pc worldwide and lessened pressure to reduce prices.
So Dell apparently found a way to alienate customers so well that buyers looked to alternatives. And HP is an obvious beneficiary.
When Dell recovers, HP sales will probably be affected.
I say "when" Dell recovers, because, despite the unseemly interest in Linux (
), the company does have the resources to make corrections.
