How many products and features Microsoft hypes as "near future innovations!!!! (insert drool here") end up never coming out?
Windows XP is said to be what Windows 2000 should have been (so why wasn't it offered as a free upgrade to those who bought Windows 2000?)
The new WinFS file system was much hyped for Vista... then it magically disappeared one day.
Give me time, I could go back 20 years and find little announcements... and the pattern suggests to the buying populace to wait for Microsoft to release it instead of taking advantage of the competition. By then, the competition is gone and Microsoft need not release their original claim... or are so incompetent, those features DO arrive - in the form of chopped down versions, one or two official releases later than originally expected.
