I highly doubt this

A few things need to change first.

1) The keyboard. Either they come up with something better to replace the key board or they make a more functional keyboard for the notebook. Right now they are usable but hardly and if you don't want to workers compensation claims skyrocket you won't be using Laptops instead of desktops.

2) The monitor. They are smaller. While Desktops are moving to to larger monitors or multiple monitors Notebooks still have the 15" screen for the small ones and as you get bigger you get a lot heavier too. Could you imagine a 21" screen on notebook? I'm sure it's possible and probably exists but that's got to be heavy and bulky.

3) Battery life. Battery life just doesn't last for the uses we are putting PC through today.

I just don't see cubicles full of notebooks. It's not practical. Theses stations don't need be mobile and they sure don't warrant the increase in cost. A PC cost roughly $300 less than a Notebook, can you justify the $300 increase for 1000 Workstations that don't need to be mobile? That's $300,000 more. I just don't see it.
