Dumbest question ever...
Having to create visual effects for a living I have a pretty good understanding of how Photoshop is used for visual effects. So to hear someone question Photoshop's viability as a 3D tool is pretty laughable. First, do you have any understanding of how the 3D is being implemented in CS3? Probably not, since Adobe has yet to go into detail about it. But, for those of us with actual experience, I can tell you that the more powerful programs you have in your arsenal the sooner you can complete your projects the better. Plus, as a software developer Adobe has to find ways to expand Photoshop to keep it relevant to its user base. Adding more power, as in the new Extended version, can only grow their current user base even more. Not to mention expanding Photoshop's use in the real world. Personally, I'm looking forward to hearing more about CS3 Extended.
