Life of Plasma TVs is pretty good. I don't know about you but 80,000 hours is a pretty log time for a TV these days. That's about 27 years of life for the thing assuming you watch approximately 8 hours of TV a day. It's 9 if you run it 24/7 for that time. Now that just the lamp life of them. Other parts will break long before that 25 years hits. Also most often the TV will break down in the first year and if it last longer than 3 years it's going to last a long time. I've been watching reviews on them because I wasn't sure how long they'd last. I've heard there have been more problems with LCD but even they last a long time.
Now if you buy a bargain basement unknown brand that they seem to sell in places like Walmart I'd be warry. One unit I saw only had 30,000 hour lamp life. That's like only 10 years at 8 hours a day. - Posted by: voska Posted on: 02/23/07 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
