It's all about price
It's not the difference in price between the CRT and the LCD/PLASMA TVs it's the prices in general. The market for TVs shows that most peolpe aren't willing to spend more than $700 on a TV. This is what a guy at Futureshop told me. IT just seems that $700 is the sweet spot for purchasing television. By the way I'm Canadian so that's $700 Canadian. Once you exceed $799 then the consumer starts thinking and generally finds a reason not to spend or go into debt. So if a person comes in looking for TVs in general they generally won't spend over that ammount. When a person comes in looking for a Plasma screen TV they know what they want and have the cash ready to buy it.

What what happens when the those new TVs get to that sweet spot in price. They will sell like crazy and our landfills will be filled with old CRTs.
