Ignorance, thy name is bliss
Judging by the comments so far, ignorance really is bliss. Congress did not expand Daylight Savings Time for arbitrary reasons. It reduces energy usage, pure and simple, documented extensively. What continues to astound me are the extremely rude talkback comments that reveal an incredible intolerance for thought -- and lack of thought. Get the facts folks. DST reduces energy usage (to oversimplify it: fewer people are up in the dark morning hours - more are up and functioning in the late afternoon and early evening -- so shifting darkness to when fewer people are awake leads to reduced energy use).
