I upgraded KODAK cameras and found lower quality
I have owned several KODAK cameras, a 1 megapixel, 2 megapixel, and currently a 4 megapixel. Sadly, the DX6490 I purchased seemed to offer 4 megapixels of detail, and then used a compression engine that to reduce the file size! This caused poor detail in the final image. It was evident with outdoor photos with much detail such as blades of grass on the lawn.

One of the similar KODAK cameras had a selectable compression option, but my DX6490 did not. In this case, I believe I was better off with the 2 megapixel camera!
