Apple Fanboy Tells It Like It Is - NOT
It's clear you're just another Apple fanboy attempting to make excuses for a company that has followed business practices very similar to Microsoft, the company you claim to hate. Now just to make myself clear, I hate both Microsoft and Apple legally (actually, I pretty much hate all huge companies).

There are plenty of other ways Apple could have handled this. They could have simply not even advertised the 802.11n as a benefit of their product or simply said, up front, "you may have to pay to enable this feature later." To advertise said feature in a product and then attempt to extort more money to enable the feature is commonly known as a "bait and switch" tactic.

Furthermore, AFAIK Apple has never released the source code for OS X. I'm honestly surprised nobody's made a huge deal about that considering they're in violation of the GPL governing the UNIX derivative they built their OS on top of.

So, all in all, think before you speak. If you're up for paying your "fanboy tax," then by all means do it. However, just because the rest of us don't feel like bending over and letting Apple stick it to us doesn't mean we're all "Microsoft-centric."
