Maybe not today as everyone else has a product like the I-Pod now but back when it first came it was innovative. I had a creative 64 MB MP3 player back in 1999 that had a forward and backward button. Nothing changed in this market till the I-Pod came out. Now we have MP3 players with play lists that can store more than just music. That's innovative. They took a concept that exist and improved upon it.
As for marketing I'd say Microsoft does better marketing than Apple. Microsoft is the king of marketing. Look what they've accomplished with the on the desktop, servers, game consoles, software and more. What's Apple done? A few sexy ads here and there for thier products and it's only worked for the I-Pod which won popularity not due to marketing but due to doing what other portable players at the time didn't do. The Apple ads for the Mac while entertaining to watch and funny don't encourage me to switch and obviously don't do that for the majority of PC users out there but we do enjoy the ads. - Posted by: voska Posted on: 01/16/07 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
