How about O$X? If it truely interoperated with standard hardware, you could run
it on a Toshiba. But you can't. It's more their most onerous licensing

Umm hate to tell you this, but Apple Inc? is a hardware company. They
made OS X not (O$X) to sell hardware. Next!

I don't believe the iPod plays wmp? Is that true? That constitutes a huge void of
lacking interoperability at the software level.

The iPod doesn't support .wma or .wmv files as the license required by
Microsoft would prohibit Apple from selling "fairplay" tracks. So Microsoft is the
onerous one here. Next!

Apple equipment is proprietary. Can you load Windows natively on a Mac? If not,
wouldn't this be another huge lack of interoperability or at least standards
support. Windows OS is as standard as they come with over 90% of the market

The intel Macs can natively load windows, the real question is why? Being that
windows is not as good as OS X (and cost twice as much). The real question is why
would anyone want to use it on Apple hardware? The only answer I could think of
is for Microsoft to further abuse it's monopoly position. Next!

It makes me laugh when the Apple zealots complain about MS lock in and
domination while Apple locks you in to their hardware and you have pay 129
bucks a year for service packs.

You just have to love the windows zealot's favorite rant. It's ok when Microsoft
charges $199 for a service pack (windows xp is NT 5.1 and windows 2k was NT 5).
Yet when Apple replaces the Kernel and adds more applications, they (Apple)
should give it away for free? What's Microsoft's next service pack going to cost? I
believe it's anywhere from $159 to $329. Next!

Their electronic devices, while nice, are very proprietary in the sense you can't
play whatever you want on them at the software level. And they are too expensive
for the average user. Anyone I know has a creative labs et. al.

The windows zealot's favorite rant. "Apple products are too expensive!", "My job at
burger hut won't support me buying their stuff". Boo hoo, Do you whine that you
can't afford a better car, house, TV, etc.? Last time I checked the Zune cost as
much as a similar iPod? and get this, it is even more restrictive! So your little
Anti Apple/ Pro Microsoft rant is nothing more than that. Maybe you should be
attending your NBM meeting and getting better rants from the senior members?
