Everything will become smaller, faster, more portable, more durable, etc.

Such is the case for tech in general. Will technology ever realize a plateau? Unless someone can percieve a difference somewhere then it will continue to grow from a $$$ perspective, but like with HD 1080P or music MP3, unless you need to be actually present in order to appreciate and engage your senses then it will become more and more difficult to demonstrate the increased utility.

It's the same with a car. If you build a car that lasts for 20 years then you have at most 4 buying cycles - all things remaining the same. The same is true for anything, food, TVs, speakers, clothing, housing, etc.

It's all about the six senses; sight, touch, smell, hearing, taste, emotion. Emotion is the only one of the six that can be dramatically enhanced. Each of the other 5 are only marginal.

That's it.
