---So let me get this straight, your position is people should diss things without ever trying them---

I think you made this same silly argument when we were discussing the poor UI's on cel phones. You claimed that since I didn't own a RAZR or an LG Chocolate, that there was no way I could know that their interfaces were poor. I replied that I simply could not afford to buy every single product on the face of the earth, and that from physically inspecting the products in stores, reading large numbers of reviews from varying sources, and speaking with owners of the products about their experiences, I could get a solid picture of what was really going on.

You may have the time and funds to purchase and road test every product on earth. I don't. That doesn't stop me from knowing a turd when I see one.
