Amazon & Supreme Court
WSJ reports today that the US Supreme Court is finally addressing antitrust issues related to underwriters. Firms like Credit Suisse Group, Gouldman Sachs Group, and Morgan Stanley help inflate aftermarket stock prices for companies like Amazon.com, eBay and Priceline.com, according to the article on page 8. The case is rife with business issues because underwriters have claimed they are immune from private antitrust lawsuits and instead operate under special over-riding laws. The case stems from the late 1990's Internet frenzy when fortunes were pirated involving .coms.
