- I'm no fan of Sony, but...
-
but do you have any credible evidence to back up this claim of yours:
"You have been scammed, the models sold under this unannounced sale, warranties were reduced...But Parts and Services will increase on these chosen Televisions will increase by 200% - 300%."
In addition, you can buy an extended warranty from places like Best Buy that will extend the Sony warranty by up to three years, thus negating the alleged 200 to 300% increase on parts and service by Sony. So, if there was a "scam", the extended Best Buy warranty eliminated it.
and then there is this load of crap:
"An upcoming lawsuit filed against Sony for releasing only 400,000 PC3's *8,000 Units average per state with uneven distribution by cities, causing 26 deaths, injuries, and robbery. Meanwhile, Microsoft has sold over 2 Million X-Box 360's during the same period."
Sony is not (repeat: NOT) responsible for the 26 deaths, injuries and robberies. Those who committed those crimes are directly responsible. So, unless you have top-level Sony execs who were arrested committing those crimes, there is nothing on Sony. This is nothing more than a frivilous lawsuit and yet another reason we need serious torte reform in this country.
Sony is not (again, repeat: NOT) obligated to manufacture enough of their product to guarentee that anyone who wants to buy one, can.
And this straw man:
" Meanwhile, Microsoft has sold over 2 Million X-Box 360's during the same period."
You do not take into account that the PS3 is equipped with a BluRay DVD drive. The XBox 360 is not. The BR-DVD is extremely new technology and availability is going to be limited. Sony has yet to even release a BR-DVD player to the consumer (coming in mid-December according to Sony). The XBox was created pretty much with off the shelf components so the manufacturing supply chain was easily fulfilled. There is really no revolutionary or new tech inside an XBox.
The same can be said about the PS3's Cell Processor.
Lennon, you are yet another example of what happens when people think the state is obligated to take care of their every whim. - Posted by: Dave P. Posted on: 12/03/06 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
