Recently Apple in making their other product had a little infection crop up. It turns out a Windows machine in the production center had the infection and infected the poor littl iPods.
Now simply put:
1. Why was a windows machine needed to program Apple products?
2. Why didn't Apple do their quality control and find it before they went out to customers?
3. Why did Apple publish an answer that it was the fault of Windows?
4. Why was a Windpows machine in Apple's manufacturing line?
Could it be that there wasn't any Apple software capable of doing that part of their process?
I don't hate Apple.
They did a good job of ripping off Xerox's GUI (Graphic User Interface) then accusing MS of doing the same thing to them????
(OK all the Apple faithful please convene and have services to reinforce that Steve and Woz really invented the Mouse and graphic interface called Windows and not Xerox. Because if the facts don't fit, it must be heresy!)
As said before, the Vonage subscription yields free long distance calling so may just eliminate the Baby bell charges and be a washy.
I use Lingo and can call all over the world for no more than my monthly charge, which is a heck of a lot less than local service only from Bell South. Free long distance is a probable wash.
Now as far as pricing, Dell, OK, but in the PC world we have something called new designs every few months. Not one product and the OS going from Lions to Tigers and Bears Oh NO! (OK Tigers and leopards) For more money. XP is what? 5 years old? All updates and improvements are free, and it stays backwards compatible with legacy programs.
Ask the folks with duo core intel Apples if they can run the old legacy programs? From just the month before they bought an intel machine.
Back to my point. I got a new notebook a few months ago. An HP, this one:
http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1759,1870375,00.asp
For $799.00. Warranty, only one year. 64 bit and awesome screen and graphics.
Every two months or so the PC folks, due to demand, keep upgrading their offerings, and deals can be had.
And they can still run games and programs form the old days.
I have yet to hear Apple admit that the infections they recently experienced in their iPods could have been prevented with simple QC, OR MORE TO THE POINT, MAKING SURE THEIR PRODUCTION LINES DIDN'T NEED PCS!
So subtract the savings with Vonage free long distance, and rate the computers for capabilities.
And please, no more comparisons of the latest Apple that is behind the last quarter's AMD 64 PC on clearance.
Check out the specs for what I paid on clearance $799.00 at Cicuit City.
Now compare that. - Posted by: derekgore Posted on: 11/15/06 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
