Tflops(floating point operations per second):
ps3: 2
360: 1

online gaming:
ps3: free
360: monthly fee

Available alternate os:
ps3:currently fedora-core 5, gentoo. more to come
360: intentionally difficult to change os

media drives:
ps3:dual layer blue ray(50 gigs)
360:dual layer dvd(7.4 gigs)

Also the number of cpu cores the 360 has compaired to the ps3 is not relevant since the ps3 is an asynchronous processor (I would love to explain what this is, but I cant in such a little space, look up the cell processor for more information).

360 also does not come standard with a hd and to upgrade it you must purchase one with the windows os that 360 uses installed. Since ps3 is made to boot with other os's any compatable hard drive can be used, if you know how to use an install disc.

Compairing the frequency of a processor is totally rediculous (3.2GHz). What matters is the operations per second and since this is a gaming system, not an insurance data base, the floating point operations per second(flop) is the crutial factor.
To simply explain, each pixel is calculated with floating point numbers (anything with a decimal place). these are typically harder for a cpu to handle. However, the ps3 was built to do them, and can do twice as many as the 360.
So many that it is faster the the best AMD(or Intel, if you like to overpay for less) computer available with the best graphics card.

Lets not forget, 360 runs a version of windows, which means you will probably be paying microsoft some fee(whether we realize it or not) for any new software.
