- PS3 has it all

If the factor that CD went the way of the do-do bird when the PS2 was released pushing the DVD format for game distribution and movies into main stream is anything to indicate the uptake of Blue-Ray DVD. Happy days are coming in deed!
Of course the hard sell will be the difference between current digital DVD and Blue-Ray DVD. Just like VHS to DVD arguments back in the day, this was answered to consumers by adding extra content.
This will probably happen again with the move to Blue-Ray. Sounds like Sony has a plan.
The competition is either not interested in home entertainment issues (like Nintendo) or like MicroSoft, are confusing gamers and consumers alike. first they alienate original Xbox owners, developers and shareholders by abandoning the system 3.5 yrs into it's life cycle. After loosing $3 billion plus in those 3yrs is considered by many a failure. Ok, ok MS takes in $8 billion every 3 months so the loses in the Home & Entertainment division are well hidden. So MS rushes to market a newer console but it uses the older DVD medium as Blue-Ray and HD-DVD specs were not ready. So MS argues that the 'future' is NOT bigger capacity DVD but digital distribution. Well they blew it on that front I think also. The offer 2 models, one with out a hard drive another with 20 GB in size. Considering that only 13 - 17 GB of that drive is available to users, only a portion is available to digitally distributed content. Even worse they tie the user into buying only an MS drive to upgrade, if they ever make one. Next they confuse by advertising full 1080p software support for their games. Not possible without an HDMI cable, ask any HD expert. Third and finally (got work to do) they push an external HD-DVD adapter for movies ONLY (not games). So MS sounds like they are not sure which way to go but will probably release xbox 420 (or something) xmas 2008. I said here first, mark my words.
So Sony may have dropped the ball during the PS2 era for online play and some higher graphic standards but it seems they (Sony) have listened to us gamers and taken it to heart. That is why the Sony PS3 will again reign champion to all gamers. I'm sure Bill Gates & Steve Balmer have their preorders in. - Posted by: scole3@...
