Your logic is nonsensical
Steve Jobs was pushed out of Apple in 1985, many years before MS rose to dominance. You might also care to note that it was Steve Jobs that gave MS a start with Word and Excel on Mac long before they could run on Windows (in fact, before Windows was even a product).

"When in his prior 30 or 40 years has Jobs proved to be a master marketer?"

That statement shows plain ignorance. The incredible early success of Apple was largely due to Steve Jobs. Certainly most of its post-1996 success is due almost solely to Jobs.

And don't forget the success of NeXT and Pixar - how many other Silicon Valley CEOs have as many success stories in their CV as Steve Jobs?

"During the time the apple was blown out of the water by Microsoft?"

To make it clear, Jobs wasn't at Apple when that happened. The statement shows plain ignorance of the facts.

If Jobs had stayed at the helm of Apple through the late 80's and early 90's, it is very unlikely that MS would have their current market dominance.

You may also care to note that Apple was just about dead before Jobs returned, and now they have returned to being a very profitable company.

As far as market and marketing savvy is concerned, you won't find anyone who knows what they are talking about that would put Gates or Ballmer ahead of Jobs.
