Rebadged HP/Compaq/DEC = same crashworthy junk.

Compaq had issues back when they were their own brand. I remember having to service their proliant line; and we always had odd problems resulting from either the customized and the inferior hardware they used in them.

Now that they are just another sales badge in Carly's HP/Compaq/DEC disaster I can't imagine that they have gotten better -- rather, I would expect that they have gotten worse.

I tend to agree with whomever it was who pointed out that if you pay "next to nothing", you get "next to nothing" in return.

If you just use your PC for eMail and web surfing, maybe this deal is good enough. If you expect more, like getting any work done on it, then maybe you should pony up a couple more dollars and get something better... whichever OS you end up choosing to go with.
