Compaq?! Good grief! I thought they died . . .

I thought they got merged with HP - guess somebody decided to resurrect the brand name.

Let me put this bluntly: You get what you pay for, even if the features look good. Out of all of the computers on the face of the earth, Compaq computers have the most troubles, and give me more headaches than any other brand of computer. Expect them to crash every day. They cut so many corners, stability goes out of the window. They are very tempting, yes, but you are condemning yourself to a life of frustration.

I would never, ever, recommend a Compaq. You get what you pay for. You pay almost nothing - you're getting almost nothing. They're not worth it. Spend a few more dollars and get something that won't crash every day.
