most of the people I know who are high into gaming, are students... and students tend to have a budget which is either $0, or negative.

a really cheap system which can run good games OR other stuff is all that they need. Only the high-end multimedia people would ever be doing multiple heavy programs simultaneously...

Power is getting to exceed need by so much, that demand for it is going to be small. the only things, other than those multimedia people, that could need that kind of power would be servers or mainframes...
