"Yeah true, but that's only applicable if you want a HDDVD player, have a HDTV, have a WI-FI network at home and have full broadband access (mainy for us europeans). If you don't have/don't want those things, then the 360 will still cost only about half as much as the PS3... "
The whole point is that if you WANT the new HD-DVD player then you're not saving money by getting a XBOX 360. And if you don't want wireless, well the $500 PS3 doesn't have that and so it still comes out cheaper than a XBOX 360. Also the 360 HD-DVD player doesn't have HDMI.
"Besides, MS have the right model, let the user decide what extra functions they want, and pay for them, that way if you cant use something (I.E. XBox live, or WI-FI, or HD output) you don't have to pay for it."
PS3 uses blu-ray because you have more capability for games. When that full potential is reached by game developers the 360 will look like crap.
Most people that have XBOXes use XBOX live. So I wouldn't consider that an "extra" and Sony's version will be FREE. And if you are going to play online you probally want wirless. Even if not, since with the 360 you can stream content off of your computer then wirless is kind of necessary anyways.
HD output? Um the 360 was designed to be played on HDTVs, idiot. Yeah you can play it on a regualr TV, but it's FULL potential was meant for HDTVs.
Also you talk about CHOICE. Where is Microsoft's blu-ray player? Maybe I want a 360, but I rather have blu-ray? So come up off this "The user gets to decide" crap. If Microsoft was really about giving choice and if they were really smart they'd offer BOTH. Fact is Microsoft is playing the same game Sony is when it comes to the new DVD format. They backed HD-DVD so they are offering a HD-DVD player ONLY so it can beat Blu-ray. - Posted by: BCF1968 Posted on: 09/22/06 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
