I can't say I ever played any Hockey games on the PS... So I can't comment, and as for FF7,arguably one of the greatest games ever and excluded from any dissin' of the PS (long live SquareEnix!).

Otherwise I think the Tony Hawks games are the best example, The DC version pooped all over the PS version from a very great height in both graphics and physics. Although, I suppose I best defend the Gran Turismo games too... damn...
