Also, my vote is to support neither at this time
though the new standards may offer higher quality and capacity, the war over who rules is confusing for consumers, delays and/or divides the end products, slaps extreme DRM over content and hardware that surely will not stop thieves but hobble consumers privileges and experience (initially on problems with hardware/software communicating said privileges and restrictions between each other), and if the divide lasts long enough, a successor in the form of maybe holographic storage, some sort of leap in flash, or whatnot may kill the level penetration that the two separate entities are seeking.
