On video on demand, you don't. I have already watched a
couple of movies more than once on long plane trips. I encoded
them and it took a long time but I use this feature mostly when I
fly.

Podcasts on dog walks.

Music when driving or walking to meet friends for dinner.

Showed one set of vacation pictures when on vacation with
another set of friends.

Took a movie of a friend dancing, put it on my Mac, edited it,
added my music and showed it to my friends on vacation via the
iPod (connected to TV for sound).

This little baby is really fun and the movies just made it better. I
hope they get a library of about a million movies this year.
