My understanding is...
What I want from a music player is to simply plug it into any PC and move my music files onto/off the player without special software or restrictions.

That's what this player offers me, a simple Flash file system.

My understanding of the iPod nano is that I have to use Apple's software to upload/download the music.

I also, out of principle, don't want to buy a DRM'd player. I resent the 'iPod updates' that arrive in my Mac Mini and resent the way it offers me an EULA each time. I just want something to play music not a complicated legal contract every few months!

I saw this player, thought, damn thats sexy, I then went into Media Markt to buy one, but they're only in the far east currently. The Nano wasn't as sexy, smaller screen, no radio, more expensive, DRM, so I'll get one in Pantip next time I'm there.

So this is why I think that Apple's dominance of music players is at an end.

Unless they do something special pretty soon.
