Its a shame
I always used to think of Sony as a quality brand, until they killed all product support on my little Aibo just as soon as they had a new model out. That really set my teeth on edge.

But Sony seem to be fighting so desparately to survive they are cutting corners. Perhaps they bet too heavily on Cell, PS/3 and BluRay, and the other divisions are starved of investment. Thats a dangerous bet in my view.

BluRay is perhaps too much of a big-bang. A more incremental approach like HDDVD might have worked as a single format. Now I suspect that both are going to fail in the market, and we'll get our content in other ways.
