Cable companies lose round in CableCard battle

Problem is..

They have the money to pay off (read as lobby) senators and congress so they get to steal from us legally and we go to jail if we return the favor.

Can everyone say satellite (Dish / Direct TV). I have had all 3 services at some point in my life and cable was the WORST. Neither of the other two demand payment for services BEFORE they are provided. Cable is the only situation I have experienced where you have to pay for the service before you get it. Everything else is pay after the service has been completed (in this case, month's end).

With the pricing of cable, I have NEVER seen where satellite TV is more expensive - it is cheaper than cable (monopoly here in WI) by huge margins. I have had 40 MPH winds and still get reception. If it DOES go out, it's time to turn off the TV, go into the basement and turn on the radio and listen for tornado warnings. If you don't get good reception during rain, snoew, etc, then just call them and have them re-align your dish for free. Based upon the reasons stated above, I CANNOT understand why ANYONE still has cable.
