No wonder CableCard adoption is low
The Cable companies (NCTA) think they're going to lose that steady revenue stream, which with the tactics they use they deserver to. I had a CableCard briefly from COX Communications. During installation and after if I had any cable box or modem problems, tech support would first attribute the problem to the CableCard. They constantly reminded me I couldn't get the Program Guide or ON-Demand programming, misinformation that I couldn't use their DVR, if I had a CableCard installed. If Cable companies were for cablecards, more people would have them, know about them, or at least there would be more discussion. I guess it's not about the technology, it's about the money.
