- Didn't say they were necessities...

But yes they do keep us warm on certain nights. Since I'm not living under your mantra of what goes where in a house (thank goodness), i.e. a set in the bedroom, yes we do have one there.
As for sedentary and overweight...wrong again on both counts. We're avid gym goers at least 3 times a week (and sometimes 5). I'm 6'3" and 200# and the wife is 5'4" 110# dripping wet...yours? You make an awful lot of completely wrong and quite frankly insulting assumptions in your letter...a little thought perhaps beforehand would help you to maybe understand that just because we're not all like you doesn't mean we're overweight, lazy, understimulated, boring, interested in nothing but video people (we REALLY love music as well). We live in the foothills of the Smokey Mountains and go there at least 6 times a year to enjoy the seasons, their beautiful changes and to hike. We also vacation in The Bahamas every year where we are fortunate enough to have the use of a private villa on a private island and just lay about the beach, snorkel and scuba with no exposure to video (but plenty of music). So, as you can tell there's really no reason at all for you to feel sorry for myself and my wife and our activities or what you thought were going to be a lack of them.
As far as what's going on; we watch the news...oh, and that would be real news NOT the classical oxymoron FOX NEWS. We do NOT have cable, we much prefer DTV as it's offerings, picture and pricing are all better. Oh, and you're way low on your estimate of my AV spending on systems. I would like to remind you that you may have comfortable savings which is admirable, but you can't spend a dime from the grave pal! Now, if your neighbors can't afford a $15,000.00 car even with credit but live within a block of the ocean, maybe they should reassess their priorities, although I myself love the ocean very very much. If you have to raid your money market to get what I have, then you obviously should not do it. Oh, and by the way if you're going to approach ANY hobby strictly with an investment outlook...don't do it. Hobbies are for enjoyment, nothing more and nothing less.
I'm happy that you see fit to send money to where you do, that's very admirable. I also donate to charity, and although I'm cetainly aware (and it would seem appropriatelymore aware than yourself of what's going on) and support our magnificent armed forces (although not on this current particular fiasco, but that's another discussion), I choose to donate to the "crippled childrens fund". Something I started doing from exposure to John Lennon and his music 30 years ago...No doubt something else you probably consider a complete waste of time and money.
All the best to you; I hope you work out your priorities in a way that may make you more amenable and palatable to your friends and family, and less critical of strangers. - Posted by: conchyjoe7 Posted on: 08/18/06 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
