My first experience

Great article.
Once upon a time I was a Sony fanboy. If I needed something and Sony made it; that was it, no shopping around. Products full of features, prices better than average.

Then one day I bought a CD burner for work. The Sony software it came with would not allow one to burn a 700MB disc. I called tech support.
"We don't allow that because basically the only people who would want to do that are pirates."
Excuse me? Have you never heard of a data disc? Of course using Nero allowed me to burn all the 700MB discs I wanted, so they didn't prevent anything. Oh wait, they did: I never bought another Sony burner again.
Then all those receivers I and my friends bought started dying premature deaths (quality problems?). Then the rootkit. Now the Blu-Ray.
I spent $2500 on electronics last Christmas - not a drop of it went to Sony.
