- I say stalemate
- I was one of the early adopters of HD with a 34" Toshiba widescreen that is now over 4 years old. It was bought primarily for the 16x9 screen to watch widescreen DVDs. I have had HD from my cable company for a few years now - with HD-DVR to boot. Have since gotten rid of the VCR since I could not stand to watch such poor resolution after watching DVD and HD for so long. I don't even like to go back to the non-HD channels because the quality is so poor compared to HD. However, the viewing quality of ordinary DVD is - to my old eyes - as good as the HD picture. Will I upgrade to HD-DVD or Blue-Ray? Not on your life.
